BIOPLAT-EU project has ties to various framework programme projects and international initiatives.

FORBIO project - Horizon 2020

"Fostering Sustainable Feedstock Production for Advanced Biofuels on underutilised land in Europe". The FORBIO project was the predeccessor of BIOPLAT-EU. The project was successfully implemented and concluded in 2018. The project website is further maintained at www.forbio-project.eu

The Global Bioenergy Partnership lead by FAO of the UN

GBEP was founded in 2006 on the idea that bioenergy can significantly contribute to energy access and security, climate change mitigation, food security, and ultimately sustainable development. http://www.globalbioenergy.org/

SEEMLA project - Horizon 2020

The main objective of the H2020 funded EU project SEEMLA (acronym for “Sustainable exploitation of biomass for bioenergy from marginal lands”) is the establishment of suitable innovative land-use strategies for a sustainable production of plant-based energy on marginal lands while improving general ecosystem. http://www.seemla.eu/en/home/

MISCOMAR project - Horizon 2020

"Miscanthus biomass options for contaminated and marginal land: quality, quantity and soil interactions". The innovative character of this project is a holistic approach which combines the identification of suitable utilisation options, especially for biomass from contaminated land, and the integration of Miscanthus cultivation into landscapes and crop rotations http://www.miscomar.eu

BIOSKOH project - Horizon 2020

The BIOSKOH project will pave the way for a Second Generation European Circular Bioeconomy by showcasing how a number Innovation Stepping Stones can realise a breakthrough in techno-economic viability of lignocellulosic biorefineries. It will do so through a two stage investment process and development path to realise the largest (110 kton) second generation (2G) biorefinery in Europe. http://www.bioskoh.eu

LIBBIO project - Horizon 2020

"Lupinus mutabilis for Increased Biomass from marginal lands and value for BIOrefineries". Breeding and cropping research is performed in the LIBBIO project for maximizing the yield and value of lupin agriculture in different European marginal lands conditions, with respect to both the farmers and biorefineries. Pre-industrial processing is developed and optimized for the lupin, properties of the different fractions analysed, their advantage for different industrial use evaluated, and a few products developed as an example. http://www.libbio.net

DENDROMASS4EUROPE project - Horizon 2020

Securing Sustainable Dendromass Production with Poplar Plantations in European Rural Areas. The project objective is to establishing sustainable, short-rotation coppice-based regional cropping systems for agricultural dendromass on marginal land that feed into bio-based value chains and create additional job opportunities in rural areas. https://bbi-europe.eu/projects/dendromass4europewww.biorefly.eu

BIOREFLY project - FP7

The project aims to 2,000 ton per year industrial scale demonstration of a bio-refinery on lignin-based aviation fuel.  http://www.biorefly.eu

BiogasAction project - Horizon 2020

Removing non-technological barriers for biogas production from manure and other wastes as a renewable energy source for electricity, heating and cooling and transport fuel production in eight EU Member States www.biogasaction.eu

Biomasud Plus project - Horizon 2020

Promoting sustainable market for solid biofuels in 7 Mediterranean countries by establishing quality standards and quality certification systems for local unexploited resources, taking into account their sustainability and combustion emissions www.biomasudplus.eu

BioVill project - Horizon 2020

Setting up five lighthouse "biovillages" which produce and use most of its energy from local agricultural and forestry biomass in different South-East European countries www.biovill.eu

ISAAC project - Horizon 2020

Addressing social, legislative and economic obstacles to the biogas and bio-methane business in Italy www.isaac-project.it

ISABEL project - Horizon 2020

Promoting investments in biogas plants by using the innovative financing concept of 'community investments', with the aim to establish biogas communities in Germany, Greece and the UK leading to the installation of up to 15 biogas plants www.isabel-project.eu

BioEnergyTrain project - Horizon 2020

BioEnergyTrain brings together fifteen partners from six EU countries to create new post-graduate level curricula in key bioenergy disciplines, and a network of tertiary education institutions, research centres, professional associations, and industry stakeholders encompassing the whole value chain of bioenergy from field/forest to integration into the sustainable energy systems of buildings, settlements and regions. The project will foster European cooperation to provide a highly skilled and innovative workforce across the whole bioenergy value chain www.bioenergytrain.eu

uP_running project - Horizon 2020

Promoting the sustainable supply of woody biomass from agrarian pruning and plantation removal for energy production in Greece, Italy, Spain and Ukraine by overcoming non-technological barriers www.up-running.eu

AGROMINE project - LIFE

The LIFE-Agromine project aims to mine the ore differently. Instead of extracting the ore with a pickaxe, they let the plants handle it smoothly. http://life-agromine.com

ADVANCEFUEL project - Horizon 2020

The ADVANCEFUEL project is generating new knowledge, tools, standards and recommendations for overcoming barriers to the commercialisation of renewable transport fuels. www.advancefuel.eu

NEW-C-LAND project - INTERREG

New-C-Land has the ambition to identify marginal land in the regions concerned with the best possibilities for biomass valorisation (non-food) and bring landowners and biomass customers into contact in order to encourage the development of industrial value chains. www.newcland.eu
