Promoting sustainable use of underutilized lands for bioenergy production through a web-based platform for europe

Opportunities for economic recovery of mining land through bioenergy projects

On June 24th 2021, in Turceni, the 2nd event in the Gorj County will take place, as part of the BIOPLAT-EU workshops in Romania.

Participants will discuss the best options for the future use of land affected by mining activities. The results of the sustainability analyses for several projects and value chains suitable for these lands (carried out with the help of the STEN tool) will be presented. From the analysed projects, we will select one for which the project partners will carry out a study of agronomic and technical-economic opportunity, which could be the background for a real project developed in the region. The meeting is organized by the Romanian partner in the BIOPLAT-EU project, the Centre for the Promotion of Clean and Efficient Energy in Romania - ENERO, with the support of Turceni Municipality.
